ELM CITY FLOW is a non-profit entity established by yoga practitioners who believe that "Mindfulness must be engaged with a social conscience. Meditative silence is not sufficient." - Thich Nhat Hahn. Its mission is to actualize the potential of the New Haven community, from rock to rock, breath by breath, through yoga. It will accomplish this mission by:
Connecting New Haven yoga practitioners to each other and to yoga in new ways, through the act of providing yoga to underserved and/or vulnerable populations;
Gathering a corps of New Haven yoga practitioners who are highly motivated and specially trained to teach yoga to underserved and/or vulnerable populations;
Growing opportunities for New Haven�s child-serving organizations to include yoga programming, and recognize its potential as a developmentally appropriate, affordable, safe and fun way to exercise non-competitively, de-stress, explore one�s physical capacities and breathe easier.
